FAQ

Wear the same gear you would if you were going skiing/snowboarding. Snow jacket & pants, warm waterproof gloves, goggles and winter snow boots are recommended. If you do not have proper gear or are missing anything, we do have “extra” gear available at our base for your use. A mandatory DOT full face helmet will be provided, ski helmets are not motorized approved.  We recommend that you bring a balaclava to wear under your helmet.

We are encouraging guests to drive themselves directly to our base facilities as it will be more convenient with varying road conditions! 

Our bases are located just a short 15-25 minute drive South of Whistler Village. They are just off HWY 99, have an easy access road and we offer ample FREE parking! 

Please make sure you know which base your adventure will depart from. All Snowmobile Tours and our Mountain Dining Tour departs from Brandywine Base #1. All Dogsled, Snowshoe and Après Dining Tours departs from Callaghan Base #2. See directions to these below. We have put up lots of signage along the way to help!

All tours include; Machine & fuel, guide, helmet, whatever clothing you require.  2 hour tours include a stop for a hot drink and snack, 3 hour tours include a hot drink, snack and smokie.

We require a minimum of 24 hours notice to cancel or make any changes to bookings. Cancellations or changes made within 24 hours of tour departure are subject to full price of booking. Groups of 10+ require at least 48 hours of notice for any cancellations or changes. Cancellations to group bookings without 72 hours notice will be non-refundable. Blackcomb Snowmobiles Ltd. reserves the right to cancel or modify tours due to inclement weather, unforeseeable hazards, insufficient bookings or events beyond our control. Full refunds will be made or alternate dates will be offered in these unlikely events.

Our mandatory collision coverage of $35 per driver includes accidental minor damage to snowmobiles on our regular guided tours. Groups, advanced tours, and high performance machine upgrades are subject to an open credit card for damage deposit instead of collision coverage.

Adventure sport activities, such as snowmobiling, are not recommended for individuals who suffer back or neck pain, heart or respiratory distress. Consult your physician prior to participation. 

Safety regulations require that Blackcomb Snowmobile Ltd. does not permit pregnant women to ride on any of our snowmobile tours, as a driver or even passenger, or participate in our dogsledding or snowshoe tours. All mothers-to-be are welcome on our snowcat dinner tours.

Snowmobiles can carry a max of 2 people one Adult driver and one passenger.

The ideal weight for a smooth ride on our machines is less than 170kg (350 lbs). Please keep this in mind when organizing double riders.

Drivers must be 19+ with a full, valid driver’s license equivalent to a BC Class 5.
BC “N” licenses are accepted; “L” licenses are not.
Passengers must be 5 years and older.

Release of Liability Waiver

Please note you will have to fill out a release of liability waiver when you check in for your tour.

Terms and Conditions

A credit card is taken to secure the booking, payment is taken at time of tour – You cannot pay in advanced online for fraudulent reasons. Advanced payment can be arranged by our office agents 604-932-8484.
For your security, at check-in if your booking is not paid for in advanced, the credit card holder must be present and is required to present the credit card that will be used to pay along with matching valid photo identification. If the credit card holder is not present, alternate payment will be required and the original credit card will be refunded. Please note we require a minimum of 2 machines to run a tour. Any bookings for 1 machine will be tentative until another machine books at the same time. Alternate times will be offered when available. When redeeming a gift voucher on a tour, you will not need the credit card that was used to purchase the voucher. You will just need to provide us with the 4-letter code on the voucher (Ex: YNQT) and we will be able to redeem it for you.
We require at least 24 hours notice prior to your tour for any changes or cancellations.  Tours cancelled within 24 hours of tour time, ‘no shows’ or missed tour times are liable for the full price of their booking.
We reserve the right to cancel or combine any tour due to inclement weather, un-foreseeable hazards or insufficient bookings. A credit card number is required to confirm all bookings.
The credit card used to book must be present when checking in on the day of your tour as well as the card holder or valid ID. Groups of 10+ guests or Dinning tours require 48 hour notice of cancellation or changes. 
All drivers must be 19 years of age + with a full (unrestricted), valid driver’s license equivalent to a BC Class 5 license. We do allow a BC “N” License but not an “L”. Passengers must be 5+ years old for Snowmobile Tours. Must be 3+ years old for Dogsled Tours. Any participant under the age of 19 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and can ride as a passenger. MAX 2 people per snowmobile.

All guests are required to sign a Release of Liability Waiver upon check in ,in person. Adventure sports involve many risks, dangers and hazards. These risks and hazards are outlined in our release of liability, waiver of claims, assumption of risks and indemnity agreement which all participants are required to sign before participating in any activity. Anyone under the age of 19 will need their parent or legal guardian present at check in to sign on their behalf. This agreement will affect your legal rights should you be involved in an accident. You may obtain a copy of the agreement from our office, base or HERE.

Collision coverage of $35 per driver is mandatory on all Snowmobile tours. If double riders want to take turns driving, they must each pay the collision coverage. Certain groups, advanced tours, and high performance machine upgrades are subject to a $35 collision coverage which covers up to $500 in accidental damage as well as a open credit card imprint will be taken upon check in. These guests will be 100% liable for any damages greater than $500.

Under no circumstances is any person suspected of intoxication permitted to participate as a driver or passenger in any snowmobile tour. Persons denied participation will not receive a refund.

It is mandatory for all participants of Adventure Sport Tours to wear a Department of Transport Safety Approved Full Faced Helmet while on tour – we will provide this as part of your tour. Our smallest helmet is a youth small (47-48), our largest helmet is 7xL (69-70).
